Stoke keeper Begovic impressed by Newcastle boss Pardew's transfer market work

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is impressed by Alan Pardew's transfer market work at Newcastle United.

Begovic says that the manager deserves credit for dipping into the foreign market and unearthing several players of undoubted quality.

"Look at the players who have come in; I mean Yohan Cabaye, he is a French regular now who has bags of talent and he has come into the side and been fantastic," he told the latest edition of Potters Matchday Magazine.

"Demba Ba is a very powerful and dangerous striker, and the likes of Cheik Tiote in the middle, he is also a very good footballer.

"Just because the players have come from abroad and they aren't household names over in England doesn't mean they aren't good players.

"I think they have a very good squad and we know the quality that they have. It's obviously good for them that they are doing well, but we will be out there on Monday doing everything we can to make sure we come out on top."
