Stoke keeper Begovic has Champions League ambitions

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic admits he is eager to test himself in the Champions League.

The 27-year old Bosnia-Herzegovina international has been with the Potters since 2010 and although he would love to make the step up to Europe's premier club competition with the Staffordshire outfit, he may look elsewhere to achieve his goals.

"Of course (I'd want to play in the Champions League), any player as ambitious as myself wants to play at the highest level. I've played in the Europa League, the World Cup and World Cup qualifiers," he told the Daily Mail.

"I know the club are ambitious and trying to move forward trying to get into European competition so if the plans are right then hopefully we can get something in place there, that would be awesome.

"But like anyone I'd love to play at the highest level. It's what I've worked so long and hard to do, so somehow if that happens - I will be honest with the club and cross the bridge when we get there."
