Stoke keen to keep Sunderland's Wright

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is planning to keep Sunderland full-back Stephen Wright at the Britannia Stadium for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old former Liverpool defender has made 16 appearances for the promotion-chasing Potters since joining the club on loan in August, and Pulis is keen to extend the deal for the second half of the campaign.

"Stephen's loan is up at the end of the month and so it's one we've got to sort out," Pulis told The Sentinel.

"We'll speak to Roy Keane up at Sunderland and see what can be done, but as with Sir Alex and Ryan (Shawcross), the decision on Stephen is Roy's to begin with."
