Stoke City are joining the battle for Manchester United defender Wes Brown.
The Daily Mail says the former England player, 31, is also wanted by Sunderland and Aston Villa and Potters boss Tony Pulis sees the 31-year-old as someone who can add experience and versatility to his improving squad.
The move may appeal to Brown as Stoke can offer European football and it would mean he would not have to uproot from his Cheshire home.
Pulis has a good relationship with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and would hope to strike a deal around £2million.
