Stoke City manager Mark Hughes was impressed with his team's performance in the penalty shootout defeat to Everton in the Barclays Asia Trophy.
The Potters lost to the Toffees 5-4 on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes at the Singapore National Stadium
Hughes told the media: "The conditions were a little bit difficult but I have to say I think the boys acquitted themselves really well, both individually and collectively.
"As a group we looked really strong and you can see that the fitness work we have put the players through so far in pre-season is working really well.
"At this stage of pre-season I tend to talk about timing at this stage of the season because more often than not that's what you miss, but I thought the timing of our runs was good, the timing of our passing was good and there were some great angles to our passing as well."
"All in all, it was a really satisfying performance … it's just a shame about the result."
The defeat means Stoke will play a Singapore Selecy XI for a third-place finish on Saturday with Everton facing Arsenal in the final.
