Stoke hero Pejic: Victory over Chelsea well deserved

Stoke City hero Mike Pejic hailed matchwinner Marko Arnautovic after victory over Chelsea.

Pejic wrote in The Sentinel: "Jose Mourinho left out Cahill and Ivanovic, who have been poor defensively, as well as Oscar and Fabregas, who haven't shown the required discipline. Hazard and Oscar still didn't get the message off the ball, leaving Shaqiri and Johnson dominating that flank.

"Mourinho hasn't got a problem with just one player, it's the unit and that's what has cost them dearly today. It's those fine details which are the difference between success and failure.

"Stoke moved to a 5-4-1 in the second half, looking strong defensively and they worked to be dangerous on the counter, breaking quickly and deserved their goal.

"It was no surprise that came down the right, with Shaqiri and Johnson linking up well. It was good to see Walters and Arnautovic in or around the six-yard box. Hughes had been saying he wanted more crosses in but you need bodies too.

"What a finish from Arnautovic. Expect the unexpected, an acrobatic volley. A brilliant piece of skill and one Mark Hughes would be proud of himself – and he was one of the best volleyers in the game. It deserved to win any match."
