Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones was delighted with his first goal for the club in the win against Aston Villa.
The £8m club-record signing also paid tribute to left winger Matthew Etherington, who provided a perfect cross for the goal, and then fired the ball in for Robert Huth to net the injury-time winner.
Jones said he couldn't miss considering the quality of delivery.
He told The Sentinel: "I had been itching for it the entire game and thankfully it came.
"Matthew had been doing well all game and with his quality he produced a brilliant cross for me. I had no reason not to finish it."
The goal should end a frustrating start to the season for Jones, who was injured within 10 minutes of his debut on the opening day of the season at Wolves.
He added: "It means a lot to get off to a good start at home like that after missing two games injured. I am happy I can start repaying some of that transfer fee! Hopefully this will push me on to better things in the future."
