Stoke fullback Josh Tymon: No hangover from Chelsea thrashing

Stoke City fullback Josh Tymon insists he can handle a difficult debut against Chelsea.

Tymon, 18, made his first Premier League appearance for the Potters in the 5-0 defeat.

He said: “You see Willian and Pedro doing that to experienced internationals so of course you know it's going to be a challenge.

“I've got to do all I can and do whatever I can to stop them playing. Sometimes that doesn't work out but whatever happens I've got to keep going."

He added: “When the manager told me on Friday I was delighted I was going to get that first start out of the way. I've obviously been plugging away and working hard every day to get that – and it wasn't the way I wanted it to go.

“If you come to these places and you're two down within 10 minutes then you're in trouble. That set the tone. It's always a difficult task to get back in the game when you go down to what were two easy goals really.

“We have to pick ourselves up straight away and go again in what's a massive game on Monday. Our aim is to take all three points."
