Stoke fullback Griffin determined to prove doubters wrong

Stoke City fullback Andy Griffin is confident he can prove he's Premiership class next season.

"I don't think I have a point to prove personally because when Derby were getting bad results there were 10 other players on the same team," said Griffin.

"In certain games I did well and in others I did badly. It doesn't help when you are getting beaten 4-0 and 5-0. You lose your confidence, but one thing you can do is scrap and show a bit of pride and dignity.

"But I have a lot of faith in my ability. This year I've done well for Stoke and for next season I know what the Premier League is all about. It's a harsh environment, but at the same time it's a great environment and everyone wants to play there.

"The hard work starts now and it's a case of making sure I keep myself in good shape over the summer.

"You have to keep doing plenty of fitness work to give yourself the best possible start to a tough season."
