Stoke City boss Mark Hughes faces a dilemma over Juan Agudelo's future.

The Sentinel says Agudelo's Stoke City career could be over before it even got off the ground after failing with a second appeal to secure a work permit.

The 21 year-old American was signed by the club as a free agent in January and then loaned to Dutch outfit FC Utrecht because he couldn't play without the work permit.

Stoke had to wait until at least March to launch a second appeal - which eventually came yesterday.

The rejection of this second appeal now leaves Stoke having to decide whether to cut their losses and allow Agudelo to move on.
