Stoke eyeing ex-Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores to replace Hughes

Stoke City are keen to hand the Head Coach role to former Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores.

The Spaniard is currently in charge of Espanyol.

The Potteries parted company with Mark Hughes on Saturday after their 2-1 FA Cup third-round defeat to Coventry.

Flores himself was sacked at Vicarage Road at the end of the 2015-2016 season, despite leading them to a credible 13th following their promotion from the Championship.

He has also been in charge of Spanish giants Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

The current favourite to take the reigns at the bet365 Stadium is Republic of Ireland boss Martin O'Neil, whilst Slaven Bilic and Bristol City manager Lee Johnson are also reportedly to be in the running.
