Stoke City are weighing up a raid on Cardiff City for manager Malky Mackay.

Stoke are set for talks with Mark Hughes this week.

But the Mail on Sunday says Mackay may be seen as a cheaper option to the Welshman.

Mackay has impressed with the way he led Cardiff to promotion, despite the club's Malaysian owners risking unrest among supporters by changing the club colours from blue to red.
