Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that Peter Odemwingie could make his long awaited return from injury within the next few weeks.
Odemwingie suffered a nasty knee ligament injury against Manchester City back in August last year and has been out of action ever since.
Due to the serious nature of the injury, it was suspected that the Nigerian would be ruled out for at least the rest of the season but Potters boss Hughes has given encouraging news by revealing that the attacker is close to making a return to full training in a couple of weeks.
The Welshman said: "Peter's still in with the physios but we're encouraged by what he's saying and what the physios are saying. Hopefully in the next two to three weeks we may well see him back in the group.
"If he's back in the group then you're looking at another couple of weeks before he's available for selection. He's as close as he been to returning and we're encouraged by that."
