Stoke City drew 1-1 with Borussia Monchengladbach in yesterday's friendly.
Mame Biram Diouf, who joined Stoke on a free transfer from Hannover, played the first 45 minutes for Mark Hughes' side in Rottach-Egern before Phil Bardsley, Steve Sidwell and Dionatan Teixeira - a Brazilian-born Slovakia defender - turned out for the second half.
Diouf and right-back Andy Wilkinson went close to opening the scoring for Stoke, but it was Monchengladbach that went ahead shortly after half-time when Thorgan Hazard, brother of Chelsea's Eden and on loan from the Blues for the season, took advantage of a misplaced Charlie Adam pass.
Stoke ensured they would not get pre-season off to a losing start, however, when Peter Crouch tapped into an empty net following a powerful run from Jon Walters.
