Stoke City defender Jonathan Woodgate was delighted with his winning debut at Hajduk Split last night.
Woodgate relished the opportunity to prove that he is still one of the best central defenders in the country when fully fit.
"That's my first 90 minutes for 18 months, so let's see how I feel in the morning," commented the former Tottenham player to Stoke's website.
"But I enjoyed the game and felt good. It's a tough place to come, but all the lads did fantastically well in those circumstances.
"I'm now looking forward to our first League game against Chelsea. There's nothing better than that and I perform better in the big games."
