Stoke City defender Andy Wilkinson wants to be known for more than being sent-off for clashing with Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said: "It got me in the spotlight for the wrong reasons but before was the best 70 minutes I'd played.

"It was one of the turning points of my career. I have to learn from it and I feel I have.

"I had Ronaldo riled and he kicked out at me a couple of times. He dishes it out and he gets away with it.

"I don't feel out of my depth. The more games I play the more belief I have."
