Stoke City defender Liam Wilkinson has dismissed a link with Bolton Wanderers.

The Sentinel says Wilkinson laughed off a recent story linking him with a possible move to Bolton in the wake of Owen Coyle's recent appointment as boss at The Reebok.

Wilkinson's agent has close links with Burnley and would have regularly dealt with Coyle during his time at Turf Moor.

But Wilkinson grinned: "It's always nice to be speculated about like that, especially as I don't think it's ever happened to me before, but I am happy at Stoke."
