Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has revealed both he and Ryan Shawcross have been in touch with Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey this week.
Shawcross is still waiting to hear whether Ramsey will meet him to accept a personal apology for the challenge that snapped the midfielder's right leg in two places.
Shawcross has spoken to the Wales midfielder since the incident and sent several texts. He wants to visit him, but Pulis admitted the final decision will rest with Ramsey and his family.
"Both myself and Ryan have been in touch with Aaron but we'll leave him now and let him get on with it," said Pulis. "The conversation remains private but we will be in touch in the future. I'm sure Ryan would love to see Aaron but we respect that over next couple of weeks he's in plaster and everything else.
"Ryan will see him when Aaron is ready. That's the important thing and that will be determined by the kid and his family. We'll respect his privacy."
Asked if Ramsey had accepted an apology from Shawcross, Pulis said: "You're better off asking the kid that. It was a dreadful accident and you know how much the kid has to suffer over the next few months of not being able to play and be part of it."
