Stoke City defender Joel Taylor is delighted with his call up to the senior squad.

Though he admits facing Xherdan Shaqiri is an experience!

He told The Sentinel: “It's the biggest thing, to try to impress the manager by having an impact in training every day. You need to make an impact every day.

“It's a bit tough marking Shaqiri ... he's a very good player but the more you play with them, the more you see how to cope coming up against top players.

“I wouldn't say it ever becomes easy, but you learn and get better. There can't be many harder players to try to mark in training.

“If you can train with these guys and come through, that has to be good."
