Stoke City defender Robert Huth played with a head wound that required 28 stitches in Tuesday night's 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic.
Although the collision took place within the first three minutes of the game at the Britannia, Huth was remarkably able to play on while wrapped in bandages.
The 28-year-old managed to play the full 90 minutes of Tuesday's 2-2 draw.
Potters boss Tony Pulis said of his centre back's cut: "It's a nasty cut, a warrior's cut.
"He wanted the bandage taken off and stitched up at half-time but the doc said to me, 'Don't let him do that. If he sees it, he might faint!'
"So we stitched it afterwards."
