Stoke defender Cameron seeks specialist knee advice in US

Geoff Cameron will travel back to his native USA for a second opinion regarding his ongoing knee issue.

The Stoke City defender has been sidelined for more than two months after suffering ligament damage in late October, and is finding it difficult to fully overcome the problem.

Cameron told The Sentinel: "It's 10 weeks now and it's been a frustrating 10 weeks. It's been tough to heal.

"I don't think it requires surgery and I'm positive I'll be back in the next month or so, but I want to take my time and make sure I'm fully recovered.

"It's been a slow and a frustrating procedure for me because throughout my career I haven't been really injured, knock on wood.

"The manager is all for it (the US visit) because he just wants to get me back playing. Hopefully, we will get some answers in the next week or so."
