Stoke City are looking at the possibility of releasing Charlie Adam during the upcoming January transfer window.
Adam has been struggling to earn regular minutes on the pitch for Stoke City during the current campaign and the midfielder has now revealed that he could leave the Potters in January, with manager Mark Hughes also admitting to the same.
Adam said about his future: "We've got until Christmas to get in the team and see what happens, then we will go from there."
Responding to Adam's comments, Hughes said: "I think Charlie has spoken in terms of that, but we still need to look at our own situation and managers and clubs will always be a little bit selfish in that regard.
"So if we don't feel it's appropriate, we won't be able to do that, even though we have acknowledged Charlie is frustrated because he wants to play more.
"Maybe if he isn't playing more, there will be opportunities for him to go out, but we would have to dictate that and that's not just for Charlie."
