Stoke complete deal for Wigan keeper Nash

Stoke have completed the signing of Wigan goalkeeper Carlo Nash on a three-month loan deal, subject to FA and Football League clearance.

The 34-year-old has moved to the Britannia Stadium until the end of the season in an attempt to boost the Potters' Coca-Cola Championship promotion push, following Marton Fulop's return to parent club Sunderland.

Nash will be eligible to take part in the play-offs, including the Wembley final, if required.

Boss Tony Pulis told the club's official website: Carlo is a very, very good goalkeeper and he will play a part in the rest of the season.

"We were disappointed to lose Marton, but I am delighted to have managed to bring in another top-class goalkeeper."

Wigan counterpart Steve Bruce added: "Nashy is a good goalkeeper and a terrific professional, and we are in a very fortunate position to have three Premiership-standard goalkeepers at the club.

"At the moment, Carlo is the one who has been missing out and when Stoke enquired for him, I felt it was in Carlo's best interests to get some much-needed action."
