Stoke City striker Berahino feeling 'sharp, happy and hungry'

Stoke City attacker Saido Berahino has revealed that he is feeling good physically this summer.

Berahino joined Stoke City from West Bromwich Albion during the January transfer window last summer but the 23-year-old did not make much of an impact at the bet365 Stadium, failing to score a single goal in his 13 Premier League appearances.

The former West Brom forward did manage to find the back of the net during the Potters' 4-2 defeat against Monaco in a pre-season friendly clash in the Swiss Alps during the weekend and the striker has now stated that he is in a better place physically heading into the upcoming season.

He said: "I'm hungrier than ever really. I've missed this so much and now I'm up and running, I'm sharper and I'm feeling happy."

"I have always tried to keep doing what I do, trying to right arrears and finally my luck was there for me and I managed to get the first goal.

"I'm happy, right now it's about getting the rhythm back and I've come back in good shape and I think I'm getting in good areas. Hopefully more will now follow."
