Stoke City are reportedly interested in Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano. The Australian international has often been linked with a move to the English Premier League in recent seasons but new claims that the Potters are showing plenty of interest have emerged.

Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Stoke have enquired about Bresciano's availability.

The 30-year old is almost certain to leave the Sicilian club after being told he is not a required player by the club's director of sport Walter Sabatini.

There is also a small rumour that has come to the fore linking Bresciano with fellow Australians Vicne Grella and Brett Emerton at Blackburn Rovers.
