Stoke City boss Tony Pulis cannot believe people's perception of the club as hardnosed bullies and has alerted attention to the aftermath of the incident involving midfielder Glenn Whelan and Manchester City's Patrick Vieira midweek.
Vieira kicked out at Whelan during the first half of the 1-1 draw at Britannia Stadium and after further review, received a three-match ban from the FA for violent conduct and Pulis made a point that both Whelan and the rest of his team did not make a big deal about the incident when it happened.
"Glenn gets kicked in the groin and he doesn't roll around as if he has been hit by a truck. He got up straight away," Pulis said.
"You don't see our players surrounding the referee or surrounding Vieira and causing loads of trouble. People's perception of us is wrong.
"We have a committed group of players, who give everything in every game, but we are an honest group."
