Stoke City News: Besiktas defender Tosic on radar; Butland says they must toughen up

Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic is interesting Stoke City.

Fanatik says the Potters are keen on signing Tosic for January.

And the interest appears to be gathering momentum in the experienced defender.

Tosic has already been courted by Tottenham and is now attracting interest from Stoke City.

Now 32, the six foot Serbian has been in England before for brief and seemingly unsuccessful spells at Portsmouth and QPR.

Meanwhile, Potters goalkeeper Jack Butland admits they need to toughen up.

He said: “We've been giving up too many chances and goals and giving ourselves too much to do in games, but we are picking up points and that's the main thing.

“A little bit of a change of formation and change of mentality, really getting the most out of people, which we haven't been doing, but the goal can't happen.

“It's far too easy for them to tiptoe to the by line, cut it back and have a tap in. It's too easy, we are giving away too many easy goals at the minute.

“We need a bit of ruthlessness, which we did second half, putting your body on the line and making last-ditch tackles more often."
