Stoke City chief Tony Scholes admits they shop from a long list of targets.

Scholes was clear that Stoke are careful not to be left in a position where it depends on everything dropping for a single target.

“If we are looking to bring in a player we never just chase one player for a position," he said.

“We always chase a few and obviously, as you move closer to getting one done, you lose priority over the others … and if you get one position done you prioritise another."
