Stoke chief Rudge urges fans not to panic over new signings

Stoke City chief John Rudge has urged fans not to panic over their lack of signings this summer.

"We know we've got to bridge the gap between the Championship and the Premier League, as all three promoted teams have to every year," Rudge told The Sentinel.

"We have completed the list of players we are interested in signing and Tony Pulis will observe and detail his main targets.

"You will see clubs asking for a top figure at the moment - and if you speak to agents you will find them asking for top wages as well.

"Agents are ringing me all the time because they think we have much more money to spend now we are in the Premier League. And I'm sure Tony's phone has been ringing three times more than mine.

"Like all summers, it will be a bit further down the line before clubs will start making decisions on who they want to sign - and players on who they want to sign for.

"You've only got to look at the market at the moment and see there hasn't exactly been a great deal of activity up and down the country."
