Stoke City are chasing Watford striker Andre Gray.

The Daily Mail says the Potters are prepared to pay nearly £30million to pair Benik Afobe and Gray in a new look strikeforce.

Wolves triggered their option to buy Afobe last week from Bournemouth and will make a quick profit with Stoke prepared to pay more than other Championship rivals.

Watford are prepared to listen to offers for Gray, who cost them £18m from Burnley last year.

The striker has been frustrated at his lack of starting opportunities but may wait to see what other interest there is before committing to Stoke despite their clear ambition to go straight back up at the first attempt.
