Stoke chairman waiting for Reading over Kitson deal

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates admits he's unsure of Reading's plans for striker Dave Kitson after they lost their promotion playoff against Burnley last night.

Stoke loaned the striker back to Reading in March on the understanding the Royals would buy him, for a fee believed to be around £4.8m, if they were promoted from the Championship.

Coates said: "It depends on what Reading want to do, so it is too early to say at the moment."
