Stoke City chairman Peter Coates understands fans' frustrations over their recent form slump.
But he insists performances have not been as bad as results during a four-match losing sequence heading into Saturday's visit of struggling Hull.
Coates told The Sentinel: “He is no different to any manager. When results are not going well, supporters will criticise.
“He's been in the game long enough and will know all about that. We are in a results-driven business and supporters, when things are not going well, will have a moan and complain.
“I don't criticise them for that. They pay to come and watch and are entitled to their opinion.
“The only way to change things is to start winning games and I'd like to take this opportunity to ask our fans to stay right behind the team this Saturday, even if there are any setbacks, because the next win is important.
“It's up to everybody - manager, coaches and of course the players - to get that win we all want, but our fans also play their part."
