Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is willing to dip into his own pocket to fund a summer signings spree.

He said: "That might well have to be the case. You have to have the cashflow to do things.

"Often you find that the money which comes from Sky isn't in a lump sum, so you have to have the ability to find the money.

"I am sure there will be more support from the company."
