Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is willing to back Mark Hughes in the remaining weeks of the market.

Coates is pleased with the balance of signings so far.

"We will see what's out there in the next few weeks and see what we can do," he told The Sentinel.

"I know Mark is keen to retain a balance between exciting players, some of whom are foreign, and a strong core of British players. It's an important balance to have."
