Stoke chairman Coates puts pressure on Hughes: 'We need to do better'

Stoke City chief Peter Coates has demanded better results from manager Mark Hughes following a poor start to the season.

City currently find themselves in 17th place in the Premier League table following a terrible start to the season and Coates has ramped up the pressure on manager Mark Hughes by demanding better results during the upcoming matches.

Coates said: "We have winnable games coming up which we need to win. We need to get back to winning. I feel we have got a good squad that should be capable of competing in this league and nothing has changed my view on that.

"I am concerned about the last two poor results and we need to do better. But I did say two poor results. I don't think results have been poor up to then."
