Stoke City chairman Peter Coates feels victory over Chelsea can spark their season.
He now hopes the feel-good factor will linger long to help turn a corner in results... and goals.
Coates told The Sentinel: "An afternoon like that can give everyone a lift... players, management, fans and everybody connected with the club.
"Not that I subscribe to the argument that we hadn't been playing well, it's just that we have found teams hard to break down, like Cardiff three days before the Chelsea game.
"We have found scoring goals difficult and we are aware of that and are working on it because it is something we want to solve."
