Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is happy with changes to the Premier League transfer deadline.
Football League clubs will continue to abide by the old end-of-the-month deadline, but League bosses have indicated they might eventually follow suit and put the issue to the vote.
“I'm very much in favour and so very pleased with how the vote has gone for Premier League clubs," said Coates.
“We believe it's the right thing to do and it's very difficult to see a downside to it.
“The vote didn't really come as any surprise because most clubs seemed to have previously indicated their support for the move."
