Stoke chairman Coates happy Fuller cleared over Spurs ruck

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is happy to see Ricardo Fuller cleared of any FA action.

Fuller was left sweating over a possible FA misconduct charge - and a subsequent suspension - after he was pictured confronting a Tottenham fan at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Coates told The Sentinel: "I think the FA are spot on because there was no case for Ricardo to answer.

"The guy did nothing wrong. He wasn't aggressive, he wasn't nasty, he just wanted to win a football game.

"All I saw was Ricardo trying to get the ball for a throw-in. He certainly wasn't threatening anyone.

"In fact, I was a bit annoyed anybody made anything of it.

"He's an important player for us, of course, so we are desperate to have him and everyone else available to us for such a big game."
