Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has rubbished claims he's selling the club to a mystery Arab investor.

Coates has dismissed an internet report from the United Arab Emirates speculating that Stoke are the mystery Premier League club selling a 60 per cent stake to a Middle East consortium and planning to install a Sheikh as its honorary chairman.

"That's news to me," said Coates, "so I think that answers the question."
