Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross enjoyed his battle with Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Sunday.
It was the first time the two had locked horns since Shawcross was handed his international debut in the final 15 minutes against Sweden in 2012 just as Ibrahimovic was coming into white hot form.
Shawcross told The Sentinel: “It was a good contest. He's a top player and he had a few chances, but I thought we kept him relatively quiet.
“It's always difficult when you go to places like Old Trafford against teams like Manchester United, but I thought our back four – and as a team – we defended well.
“We put in a good performance, went behind to a great goal and then showed character to come back.
“We looked dangerous on the break so we could be happy."
