Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross has warned against wholesale changes under manager Mark Hughes.
Shawcross struck from a set-piece in victory over Crystal Palace.
He explained: "My goal was a bit lucky. Huthy's won a tackle, it's dropped to me, I've swivelled and it's gone in the corner.
"I don't think you can discard set-pieces because they've been such a massive part of our game. You can get so many goals from them.
"It's been shown in previous years that even for the teams at the top, like Manchester United and Chelsea, their ratio of goals from set-pieces is really high.
"It's nice to be one ahead of Huthy in the goal charts, too. We have a bit of friendly rivalry, so I'm off to a good start."
