Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross is ready to face Manchester United.
Rumours of interest from Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid have not put Shawcross off his stride.
But it is England boss Fabio Capello, as well as Tony Pulis, who Shawcross wants to impress after being picked in one national squad last term.
He said: "It's just about consistency and not making mistakes. I hope I get noticed and that chance comes around again soon.
"When you play the top clubs, naturally you play the top players and they are the ones you want to prove yourself against.
"Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Dimitar Berbatov, the challenge is there."
