Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross has ruled out an immediate move to Newcastle United.
The 29-year-old, who has only one year left on his current deal with the Potters, has been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle of late.
The centre-back insists that he is not going anywhere at the moment, but refused to rule out a future move.
"I'm not going to Newcastle... at the moment," he told The Sentinel.
"Any time you are linked to a football team it is flattering because it means you are doing something right.
"I enjoy working under the manager and everything is good, but when you only have a year left you have to think about things, but there's been no talks so far and that's where we are at.
"It's up to them (the club). All I can do is perform on the pitch, then it's up to them if they want to offer me a contract, but I have got a year left.
"I'm happy where I am. I'm captain and really enjoy playing under the manager and a year is a long time."
