Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross admits manager Mark Hughes was furious at halftime of their defeat to Tottenham.
Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and made another for Dele Alli to give the North Londoners a 4-0 half-time lead and their eighth home win on the bounce to climb up to second in the Premier League.
"There were a lot of harsh words from the manager at half-time and they were fully deserved," captain Shawcross told Radio Stoke.
"When you put in a performance like that it's not good enough and you've got no reply. He was very angry. In the second half we were a touch better but the game had gone and they had sort of given it up. It's a tough day to take. We keep wanting to push forward but it's not happening at the moment."
