Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross admits he should've done better for defeat to Manchester City.

Shawcross gave away one penalty in the first half against Manchester City – and had a similar one awarded in his favour in the second half.

He said: "I've let the team down with a silly mistake having known what's been said in the summer after meeting the refs.

"It's a stupid mistake on my part and hopefully I can rectify that in the future and not get done again."
