Stoke on the brink of axing boss Pulis

According to reports Tony Pulis is set to leave as manager of Stoke City following talks with chairman Peter Coates on Tuesday. The 55-year-old was appointed Potters boss for a second time in 2006, and two years later he guided the club to the top flight after a 23-year absence.

Stoke finished 13th in 2012-13 to secure a sixth Premier League campaign.

But the Potters were dragged into relegation trouble last season and Pulis drew criticism from some sections of the Britannia support over his side's style of play.
