Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is in line for a recall for Monday's clash with Aston Villa.

Begovic, 23, refused to play in a Carling Cup game against Shrewsbury last month but first-choice keeper Thomas Sorensen has an elbow problem.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis said: "If Thomas doesn't recover there's a good chance Asmir will play.

"He's been fine since the incident and he now has to move on and get his head down."
