Stoke boss Pulis: We never panicked

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis doesn't expect his players to wind down in the remaining weeks of the season.

Pulis insists the reaching of his 40-point target after Saturday's 1-0 win over Norwich is no excuse for any of his players to rest on his laurels.

He stated: "We have to make sure we keep winning and keep picking up points.

"We've got 40 points, which is the benchmark, but that doesn't mean we stop trying to get points. The season is far from over."

Pulis said his players deserve every credit for keeping their heads when the pressure was on before back-to-back wins over QPR and Norwich.

"I'm just pleased the lads kept their nerve the way they did," he observed.

"While people around were panicking and the newspapers were predicting the end of the world, the players were holding their nerve and getting the results we needed."
