Stoke boss Pulis wants more protection for Fuller

Stoke boss Tony Pulis was disappointed referee Chris Foy did not do more to help Ricardo Fuller in Stoke's 2-2 draw with Wolves. Fuller was fouled twice early on, resulting in him being hampered for the rest of the match, yet no yellow cards were shown for either incident.

"The first two challenges on Ric were absolutely shocking," he told The Sentinel.

"We are being told all the time that referees are going to look after skilful players. You have a look at the back of Ric's Achilles.

"He got kicked on the knee and got a cut on the back of his calf, so he struggled for the rest of the game.

"He's got a stud mark right below the knee. If that had been us playing away from home, we'd have been punished for that.

"You don't want to see players booked, but those first two tackles on Ricardo... if they aren't bookings then there isn't going to be any bookings in a game."
