Stoke boss Pulis: Upson must stay

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has blocked Matthew Upson from moving away.

Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua claimed they were in talks to sign Upson, 32, who has made just five Premier League starts for Stoke and Southampton are believed to have failed with a loan move for the player last month.

Pulis said: “Matty had the opportunity to go out on loan and we turned that down. I want to keep him.”
